Fall Fitness Festival
Held in early November, the Fall Fitness Festival is a celebration of fitness and
healthy living for our youth and their families. The festival kicks off with a
Community Champion guest speaker, followed by a conditioning warm-up work out.
Next up is a one-mile walk, followed by our famous Fitness Passport course.
Each participant receives a Fitness Passport with the goal of collecting as
many stamps as possible at the individual passport stations. Last year's
festival featured 19 fitness stations emphasizing aerobic exercise and weight
training, and 16 informational/interactive stations that provided valuable
health information and resources.
Several local organizations participate in the Fall Fitness Festival with booths
showcasing the various health resources available in our community. The day
ends with healthy snacks and door prizes for participants.
End of Summer Fitness Challenge
The End of Summer Challenge is a growing event that rewards participants in our summer
fitness programs. Held in late August or early September, the event incorporates
the stations of the Fitness Passport as well as Power Lifting events.
Community Events
The Austin Foundation maintains a presence at number of community events throughout the year.
In addition to providing fitness education information and details on our programs,
we host mini-passport obstacle stations at most events.
Past events we have contributed to include:
